PREREQUISITES: First degree in biological sciences, nursing, psychology and substantial previous experience (professional or voluntary) in caring role.

CURRICULUM: Taught modules: Human Genetics,Clinical Genetics, Counselling Skills,Research Skills, Counselling and Care in Health Settings, Ethics, Education and Communication in Genetics, Advanced Genetic Counselling. Placements: 16 week community setting in Year 1. Two 12 week genetic clinic placements in Year 2. Research: project and dissertation
CLINICAL TRAINING: Two 12 week genetic clinic placements in UK NHS Regional Genetic centres, 40 clinical cases under supervision.
